Getting Started

Are you looking for a commercial kitchen for your business in Austin? We’ve put together this step by step guide to help you get started with us.

The following list is what you will need to get started with us:

  1. Food Manager’s Certificate

    • All food business must have at least one employee who has a Food Managers Certificate as is required by the City of Austin / Travis County Health Department.

  2. Food Handler’s Certificate

    • All employees of your food business must have a Food Handler’s Certificate as is required by the City of Austin Health Department.  (If you an employee has Food Manager's, they do not also need Food Handler's).

  3. Insurance

    • A certificate of insurance showing a minimum of $1,000,000 commercial general liability. Client must have the policy for the entire duration of kitchen use.

  4. Manon’s Operating Agreement

    • This is the contract of Terms and Conditions related to using Manon’s Shared Kitchen.

  5. Manon’s Policy Handbook

    • You will sign off as having received and read this handbook.  Your signature signifies acceptance of all of the policies contained therein.

  6. Security Deposit

    • The equivalence of one month’s rent based on your contract.

  7. Application for Food Permit

    • A permit issued by the Health Department necessary for you to operate a food-related business.  We must receive a copy of this permit.  You must have an agreement with us before you apply for this permit with the City of Austin.

  8. Request for Change of Ownership Inspection

    • This inspection is required by the Austin/Travis County Health Department, paid for by the permit applicant, and should be submitted at the same time as the Application for a Food Enterprise Permit.

      Send the Application for a Food Enterprise Permit and the Request for Change of Ownership Inspection to the City of Austin Health Department or drop them off in person to the Health Department at 1520 Rutherford Lane. They will contact you directly to arrange for a Change of Ownership inspection time.

 

If you are a mobile food vendor looking for a Central Preparation Facility , Manon’s Shared Kitchen can act as your commissary and sign your CPF contract. Along with our Mobile Food Vendor's Agreement, it allows you to dump waste water and fill up with fresh water.

The following is what you will need to get started with us:

  1. Manon’s Mobile Food Vendors Agreement 

    • This is the contract of Terms and Conditions related to having Manon’s Shared Kitchen as your CPF.

  2. Insurance

    • A certificate of insurance showing a minimum of $1,000,000 commercial general liability.

  3. Security Deposit

    • The equivalence of 3 months fee.

  4. First month’s fee

  5. Application Fee

    • The one time application fee covers paperwork processing and notarization fees.

  6. Copy of your Food Manager’s Certificate

    • All food business must have at least one employee who has a Food Managers Certificate as is required by the City of Austin / Travis County Health Department.
